I primarily work with high-quality acrylic paints on canvas and watercolor and ink on paper, though I also work with charcoal, pen, and digital media. For live events, I choose materials that dry quickly, allowing guests to enjoy the finished piece by the end of the event.

Frequently Asked Live Painting Questions

During a live painting session, I usually start working as the event begins, capturing the atmosphere, key moments, and any special details you’d like included. By the end of the event, you’ll take home the completed piece.

Depending on the size and complexity, most live paintings are completed in 4–6 hours, though some may take longer. I offer options for shipping if you prefer not to handle your painting on the night of your event.

Yes, I am open to travel for events! Travel fees may apply depending on the location. Typically, I charge $50 per hour of travel time plus, if needed, the cost of overnight accommodations. Contact me to discuss your event details and any travel arrangements.
-
Before the event, I’ll consult with you to determine any specific scenes or elements you’d like captured. It could be a special moment, a key location, or the overall vibe of the event. During the event, I’ll focus on these elements and capture the scene in real time.
-
I arrive 1–2 hours before the event to set up my materials, find a suitable spot, and prepare for painting. This ensures that I’m ready to begin as soon as guests arrive or as the key moments begin to unfold.

Yes, I welcome guests to observe, ask questions, and interact while I paint! Part of the joy of live painting is allowing people to experience the process. I’m always happy to engage with guests.

Frequently Asked Commission Questions
-
The commission process starts with the submission of the inquiry form (found here) where you will provide your reference photo, preferred painting style, and size. Since you will join the commission waitlist, the timeline is not exact, but I’ll reach out to you when you get to the top of the list. I’ll give you about a week to respond (if you do not respond within a week, you will move to the bottom of the waitlist) and if you’re still interested, I’ll provide a quote and timeline. A deposit is usually required to begin, with the remainder due upon completion.
-
Yes, absolutely! On the Commissions page, I provide common sizes, but if you are interested in something else, we’ll find the right dimensions to suit your needs.
-
I’m open to a variety of subjects, including landscapes, portraits, abstract concepts, and more, but I typically stray away from close-up, detailed face portraits. If you have a specific subject in mind or a theme, feel free to share your ideas—I love creating unique pieces that resonate with my clients.
-
Yes, I can arrange framing for your commissioned piece. I work with trusted framers to ensure high-quality results that complement the artwork and protect it over time. Framing costs are separate and can be added to the final invoice.
